The same facts evaluated by a venture capitalist, a brand designer, and a cynical auditor will yield three entirely different insights.
The Brainstorm Reactor's default voice is objective, analytical, and structured ("Opinionated AI"). However, complex problems often require specific domain expertise or a different cognitive perspective. This is where Personas come in.
Applying a Persona
You can change the active Persona in two ways:
- Direct Mode (Input Toolbar): Click the Advanced Controls icon directly in the user input toolbar (
ReactorInputArea) to select an active global Persona (e.g. Steve Jobs, Critical Engineer, Venture Capitalist). - Automated Recipe Step Coupling: In multi-step Recipes, each step automatically couples to its designated Persona (e.g., Kurator, Disruptor, Konstruktivist) alongside its paired epistemic register.
When a Persona is active, it acts as a global cognitive filter. Every method you apply and every prompt you send will be processed through the lens of that specific role.
How Personas Change Output
Personas in the Brainstorm Reactor are not just tone-of-voice wrappers (like "speak like a pirate"). They are deep systemic constraints that alter how the AI evaluates information:
- Focus: A "Financial Analyst" persona will hyper-focus on margins, ROI, and risk metrics, while ignoring brand aesthetics.
- Friction: A "Red Teamer" persona is adversarial by design, programmed to attack your assumptions and find flaws rather than validate your ideas.
- Format: An "Executive Summarizer" persona will drastically reduce word count, outputting dense bullet points optimized for quick reading.
When to Use Personas
- Stress Testing: Apply an adversarial persona to your own business plan to find weaknesses before presenting it.
- Audience Simulation: Use a specific demographic persona to evaluate marketing copy from the perspective of the target audience.
- Domain Expertise: Switch to a specialized technical persona when analyzing complex engineering or legal documents.
If you don't select a Persona, the system defaults to its standard, highly capable analytical baseline.
