User ManualSession Workflow
Web Search transforms the Brainstorm Reactor from an isolated reasoning engine into an empirically grounded research engine.
Activation & The ScanSearch Hub
Web search and autonomous research engines are consolidated under the dedicated ScanSearch hub on the bottom input toolbar. Clicking the icon opens a unified popover menu offering both live web retrieval and specialized deep research agents:
1. Live Web Search (Off vs. Active)
- Off Mode (Default Resting State): By default, web search is set to Aus (Off). Frontier reasoning models generate directly from their knowledge base and your prompt context with zero latency, zero search fee surcharges, and zero unrequested tool interruptions.
- Active Search Mode: Click the toggle to switch Live Web Search to Aktiv (Active) (highlighted in bright sky blue). Every prompt will now be grounded with real-time web retrieval, citing verified sources and contemporary data.
2. Specialized Research Engines Triad
Beside immediate web search, the ScanSearch hub unifies three specialized autonomous research engines:
- Flash Research (3 Parallel Vectors): Ultra-fast fact checking and entity-dense source synthesis in under 5 seconds.
- Research Engine (5 Steps): Comprehensive academic monograph and due diligence agent featuring Karl Popper's falsification protocol, disconfirming evidence searches, and living MOC dossiers.
- Creative Discovery (Lateral Inspiration): Multi-domain bisociation and trend scouting for breakthrough campaign angles, physical materials, and cross-disciplinary analogies.
3. Socratic Interview Firewall
The Socratic Briefing Interview (socratic-interview) is strictly search-free. To protect the dialogue structure, prevent premature convergence, and keep you focused on root problem definition, external search is intentionally turned off during the interview.
When to Activate Web Search
- Verifying exact market valuations, live pricing, corporate news, or post-cutoff information.
- Conducting competitive benchmarks with live product offerings.
- Auditing scientific studies, statutory regulations, or technical specifications.
When to Keep Search Off
- Creative brainstorming, divergent ideation, storytelling, and concept development.
- Pure logic, code authoring, and mathematical analysis.
- When maximum generation speed and conversational fluidity are the primary priorities.
